Wonderful reversible fabric belt with a Baltic folk design 3cm wide with a characterful British vintage leather buckle. We love using dark red like this almost as though it were a neutral, especially for accessories. The medium width belt makes a great complement to a variety of outfits and fits typical jeans belt loops. A great belt to have in your repertoire and flexible and light enough to pack easily for travel though the leather-covered buckle does give the belt just the right amount of weighty quality. As with all our fabric belts the buckle is prong-less (prongs aren't essential for all belts) allowing for styling in different ways and the belt itself is long enough for most people to be able to wind and tuck in comfortably as you choose.
The sun-at-midheaven woven braid motif (like an eight-petalled flower) popular in Baltic mythology is positive symbol to wear.
The belt is double-faced reversible - simply flip over the buckle, label will be hidden once on - though we present with an apparent main facing side either red or white ground which is especially nice if you are giving as a present.
Each belt varies according to the individual buckle ranging from taupe brown to chocolate to black and may have a few charming dings and marks of age. Some are stamped leather, some are stitched in a way similar to glove making, and would have belonged to traditional trench coat raincoats. All buckles are carefully selected and all look great. Please check all photos, buckles shown in photos are typical.
Handmade in the UK. Even the side seams are entirely hand-sewn, a time consuming process, to avoid disturbing the woven pattern. Carefully reinforced as well as backed with khaki green cotton webbing on reverse.
